If you have been following cyber news for the past couple of months then you must be aware of “OurMine”, a group that claimed responsibility for hacking accounts of some of the most prominent people around the world.

These included accounts of the CEO of Spotify’s, Daniel Ek, Facebook of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, Sundar Pichai,Channing Tatum, and more. Even YouTubers Pewdiepie and Markiplier, Deadmau5, and the former chief executives of Twitter Dick Costolo and Ev Williams.

That same group of hackers are now saying they have hit back at BuzzFeed News for false posts that the news site published about the hacking group.

BuzzFeed also had a good number of its stories altered. The move was in retaliation to a story that BuzzFeed published where they named a Saudi teen, Ahmad Makki, as one of the hackers.

OurMine posted a message to visitors that informed them of their siege on the site. The group went on to issue threats against BuzzFeed:

buzzfeed hacked“Hacked by OurMine team, never spread lies about us again. We have gained access to your database,” stated a message before it was deleted. “ If you do this again, we will make the hack public. Never f**k with us again.”

The group gave a through story about the incident in one blog post. They said:

“Why we attacked them? Fine, just yesterday, BuzzFeed wrote a story about us and said that we are only composed of one member named Ahmed Makki.

However, we can confirm that we do not know any member named Ahmed. We were 3 earlier but someone joined us recently and we are now 4. BuzzFeed was hacked because they were spreading lies about us.

Within just minutes, BuzzFeed pulled down the pages that had been hacked. They posted a message that showed that they would sort out the posts soon.

“The hack by OurMine was surprising. They claimed BuzzFeed’s report was fake and said Ahmed was just a fan.”
