Matthew Higgins, now 20 and a university student, denies securing unauthorised access to computer data at Eirias High School, Colwyn Bay.
Caernarfon Crown Court heard it was the case of a “clever young man” caught red-handed.
He claims a conspiracy to fabricate evidence against him.
The trial was told Mr Higgins, the son of a police inspector, got access to the girl’s file then sent a fake email to Clwyd West assembly member Darren Millar.
He claimed in the email to be a constituent suggesting there was an insecure internet system at the school.
He also complained to police that his own computer had been hacked and that he’d been “set up.”
Mr Higgins denies securing unauthorised access to computer data at Eirias High School in March last year and attempting to do so again two months later.
The prosecution accused Mr Higgins of having “played a game of bluff and smoke screens” and trying to portray himself as a victim.
The trial is continuing.
