Instagram hacking has entered a new level after almost six million Instagram accounts have been hacked in the recent time. Instagram hacking going viral has troubled various famous personalities too. This hacking has troubled the users after their private/personal information is being leaked by hackers. This information includes phone numbers and email addresses as well.

A major damage in this case was to the famous singer Selena Gomez after her Instagram was hacked a week ago. And to add to Instagram hacking going viral, security experts have found out that personal information of other celebrities or singers have also been compromised. The names include: Emma Watson, Taylor Swift and Harry Styles.

Viral hacking of Instagram accounts

Surprisingly, hackers have created a whole database for cyber criminals where private and personal information of Instagram users is being sold for $10 per search. Much to users’ dismay, administration of Instagram claimed that ‘a low percentage’ of accounts were breached.

The hackers who claim to be from Russia under a group named “Doxagram” have successfully made the breach to countless accounts and with the online database earnings, they have their bright fortunes these days by selling personal information.

Amongst the most vital accounts that were hacked includes an official Instagram account for the President of the United States of America that is administered by the White House social media team.

According to a famous cybersecurity research firm named “RepKnight” established in the United Kingdom, they have identified 500 celebrity accounts that were hacked. An analyst from the firm RepKnight, Patrick Martin quoted:

“While Instagram has now fixed the bug that lead to the leak, the cat is out of the bag now, and those affected will have to take extra care to maintain their privacy.”

Therefore, in the midst of this Instagram hacking going viral, make sure to take all the necessary steps to secure your account before your information gets hacked too.
