Hackers are thought of as scary creatures that can only cause harm to us in this society. However, the picture portrayed from this incident shall change your ideas about that. They are usually thought of as unknown people intruding into privacy of organizations and dealing with data without permission of the hacker. After recent adventures of WannaCry and Ransomware, the mindset has been more fueled than ever. Yet, reading this story about Billboard hacked by neighbourhood intruders will change your mind a tad bit.

The reality can have an aspect of mischievousness that all of us may ignore instantly. Take this event from Liverpool as an example. Unknown intruders managed to take over a public billboard outside a shopping mall and display a message of their own liking on it.neighbourhood billboard hackers

Moreover, the message left by these hackers was not dangerous or harmful in any way, it stated that the security for that specific billboard shall be improved and taken care of. The message was first scene by locals that were shopping at the mall and posted on multiple social media platforms which created an array of awareness. The images can still be seen circulating on social media.

A spokesman from the shopping mall in Liverpool has enlightened the public about the issue. He said that the screen was immediately deactivated after the incident took place. He also told that screens owned by the mall were operated by a 3rd party, which definitely needed some questioning after the incident took place. BBC was told that Liverpool One shopping mall quickly closed down the billboard after the message was seen.

There was a total of 18 screens in the vicinity according to the spokesperson. However, this only happened to one of them showing an obvious lapse in security.
