A serious data breach has come up in news , it is about the popular site adult FriendFinder, this is very known website to find friends ,sex, flings and hookups. People who had this thought in their mind that they are using a service which is their very own has exposed their private data online. Now their sexual orientation, personal emails and other things like infidelity  issues can be seen online.

3.9 million people uses adult friend finder and now their all details are published in a hacker form called Dark Web.Dark web is hidden part of internet that is strongly encrypted. It is also called haven for cybercriminals.

News station also reported that this list include email addresses of military service members and government workers that can be used by hacker to extort money from them

The parent company has took it as serious issue and hired a security consultant to investigate this critical issue.

Till date we know that no financial data is compromised which was present on website. But a lot of data got exposed through Adult friend finder like martial status, sexual orientation.Similar attacks has happened in past and Adult friend finder is just a part of this. The company has promised to take immediate steps in regard of this attack as the information is vital and it can be used to blackmail lot of people.  Federal Bureau of investigation has not disclosed anything about their further investigation.

The data was published by a blogger called Teksquisite he is a IT guy who has revealed data cache last month and found out hackers extorting money from people, hackers have tried blackmailing people before displaying it online. The data got published under the name of ROR and he has demanded ransom of $248000 to hide data . Teksquisite could not find any credit card information related to users but the other information is quite enough to harm them. almost 40000 of accounts can be identified as they have information like their DOB, zip codes, race, gender, ip address, username, sexual orientation.

A UK based user named as Shaun Harper has received various spam messages and phishing mails that ask for account logins and looks like authenticated sites. people like him are terrified as they never wanted their very private information to be displayed online.

Such attacks on Dating sites has brought a security issue in front of people, till date we used to trust such sites with our personal data but now it has broke all the trust as such sites lacks security and privacy of their users.
