Famous PBS show “finding your roots” revealed Ben Affleck belonging to a family who owned slaves. The news is made public through Wiki leaks who posted this news based on email through Sony hack.

This mail consisted of a conversation between Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr and Sony USA boss Michael Lynton in which he asked that one of the guests has asked to edit or change information which reveals that they are descendants of slave owners. The list consists of people like Ken Burns. Though Henry Louis Gates denied as the information they acquire is never edited or changed for anyone.

After discussions Mr. Lynton asked to remove the information as Ben Affleck is a megastar. The entire discussion also included the threat to their position as they never present information which is edited.

The fact is known to Affleck’s publicist and agent. The email in revert was sent to Lynton that this is an act of violation of PBS rules. If the show opens up to censorship then they will lose their integrity and brand value. October episode of finding your roots had no discussion of slave- owning ancestors.
