Government official website of Hawaii state went down suddenly on Sunday, It was along with main site of this organization building, Thirty Meter Telescope atop Mauna Kea. A hackers group associated with the Anonymous, took the credit of cyberattack, which began from 9:21 a.m. and continued several hours.

Caroline Witherspoon, the spokeswoman of TMT confirmed the update. According to the update, the organization’s website suffered a service attack, which caused the unavailability of the server for minimum two hours. Websites came back to online nearly 3 p.m. In the meantime, the organizational investigating for the incident was going on.

The website of State, hawaii.gov, were backed up and was running on 5 p.m. Cindy McMillan, communications director of Gov. David Ige said, “The Security Operation Center is investigating the incident”.

Operation Green Rights, is one self-described factions of the hackers group Anonymous, have taken the responsibility of Sunday attack on a post of blog titled “Anonymous with the Hawaiian natives against #TMT.”

The post described, “Nothing will ever justify the destruction of ecosystems; filthy money can never replace them”.

The first announcement of the attack was got on Sunday 9:21 a.m. via Twitter.

TMT and officials of Hawaii government have been on fire to move forward with the plans for building a huge atop telescope Mauna Kea, which is a sacred site for a number of Native Hawaiians.
