What is Hackathon?
Hackathon is as name suggest is an event in which computer programmers and others who are involved in software development, app development participate and present innovative ideas and bring them to life.
The very famous Hackathon is here; In April 10-12 people across the globe will participate in this event at host city New York.
Earlier on Hackathon, NASA is looking for new inventions like drone to help astronauts at Space. More on this Hackathon NASA is promoting Women participation in the fields of science and robotics.
The international space Apps Challenge is a two day hackathon where team of technologist, scientist, artist, educators, developer’s and students across the globe will work together and participate with available data to design innovative solution. NASA has come up with this space challenge to bring more of fresh talent with fresh insights and capabilities to be a part of NASA. Fresh ideas can help in developing tools for problem solving in data and space travel.
There are two dozen of challenges in plate with four mission categories which are Earth, Space, Human, and Robotics.
Participants can learn a lot from this tech experience and they will be interacting and meeting engineers, scientist, dreamers, designers and story tellers in this Hackathon. This will definitely add to their knowledge and experience.
IBM is partnering NASA at hackathon. IBM general manager Sandy Carter has announced a US$120000 worth of Bluemix services for most innovative App designed.
IBM is providing assistance to participants by offering them services like they can access IBM Bluemix platform with company’s signature tools.
Cheery on the cake is Participants can also use the very famous WATSON which is a supercomputer for crunching NASA data. Watson is known for its super awesome analytical power.
Top Notch I.T companies like Microsoft, Google, and Intel are also collaborators in this Hackathon.
IBM have conceptualized awards in categories like Most inspiring app , Best use of data in app to give participants a direction for their creativity.
IBM has very well strategized NASA hackathon as this event will raise awareness about Bluemix and it will help to connect and encourage technology as career. More to this, it will also help in attracting cloud developers with creation of cloud development tools.
NASA is hoping a good churn of ideas in concrete for handling global challenges. Hackathon will take place in two parts first will be Boot camp which is on April 10 whereas second Codeathon is on April11-12.
