Today, a news came out about the hack of Gmail accounts hacking, in which hackers dumped a database of nearly 5 million Gmail usernames and passwords to a Russian Bitcoin forum late Tuesday.

So, it also can be a fake hack, but according to some tests on the leaked credentials, found that they are working.

The news came out from the Russia’s state-run news wire RIA Novosti, hacked accounts are from English-, Russian- and Spanish-speaking users. Most of the accounts (60%) are found active and it is a large number of accounts if we calculate it from 5 Billion.

Is is believed that some of the script kiddies have started using the database and logging into the accounts.

In case you have enabled the 2 Step Verification on your account, so there is no need to worry about the hack, if NOT, its time to activate that NOW!

Am I Hacked?

If you want to know about the status of your Email and to know is it hacked, you can enter and check for that on this website> https://isleaked.com/en

For starters, Business Insider reports some of those forum users were able to find their own e-mail addresses and noted that the passwords were outdated or that the accounts had already been suspended or deactivated.

Two users on Mashable were discussed—They both found their usernames in the leak but not the passwords.

“This proves that the hackers hacked into some other service where gmail address (or other email addresses) are used and got the password of that service not gmail password,” security expert says.

In the meantime, Google only said about this — “no evidence that our systems have been compromised.”

At last, I only want to say that only one thing can save you from this hack which is just enable 2 Step Verification service onto your Gmail account.
