Peter Pirate Bay

After a Long Run, Pirate Bay co-founder Peter Sunde arrested in the southern Sweden to serve the left sentence for copyright violations.

He was arrested on Saturday, by the Swedish Police.

More about Peter:

He had been wanted by the Interpol since 2012 after being sentenced in Sweden to prison for one year and fined for breaching copyright laws. The amount of prison time was later reduced to eight months but he went on the run, and Interpol have been looking for him ever since.

“We have been looking for him since 2012,” said Carolina Ekeus, spokeswoman at the Swedish National Police Board. “He was given eight months in jail so he has to serve his sentence.”

Pirate Bay’s more party members already were sentenced to one year in prison and fined of 32 million crowns ($4.8 million,) however after an appeal court reduced the prison but increased the amount of fine to 46 million Swedish Crowns ($6.9 million,) one more member was arrested in Cambodia and deported in 2012 at Sweden’s request.

One of the defendant of Sunde during trial is ‘Peter Althin,’ who said “Sunde is extremely talented and I still think that the judgement was wrong.”

“It’s about being on the cutting edge if one is going to be successful… But if one is too far ahead it is not always about success. Peter fought for file-sharing and in 10 years I think it goes without saying that file-sharing for one’s own needs will be allowed,” Althin added.
