xp update

As we already know, From April 8 Microsoft has discontinued its support for Windows XP, so you are not able to update any security updates via Microsoft. According to netmarketshare reports still 30 percent of computers running XP, so are you one of them and really don’t want to upgrade, So here is a tact you can use to re-enable you XP to get security udpates.

This is a tact or a Hack (You can say,) that allows Windows XP computers to continue getting updates. Before we tell you how you can do this, learn what is actually the hack?

This trick of XP makes the update service to think that you have “Windows Embedded POSReady (A version of Windows XP that is installed in retail point-of-sale devices, and Microsoft plans to continue supporting it until 2019.”)

Something more Important before you use this hack:

Microsoft doesn’t test the same update for desktop versions of Windows XP, and the company officially advising users not to use this hack and urging users to update their operating systems.

What Microsoft Says?

“We recently became aware of a hack that purportedly aims to provide security updates to Windows XP customers, The security updates that could be installed are intended for Windows Embedded and Windows Server 2003 customers and do not fully protect Windows XP customers. Windows XP customers also run a significant risk of functionality issues with their machines if they install these updates, as they are not tested against Windows XP. The best way for Windows XP customers to protect their systems is to upgrade to a more modern operating system, like Windows 7 or Windows 8.1.”

Still you want to use this Hack (Choice is yours :) )

Just copy and paste the below three lines in a notepad file and save the file to any name (The name is not important,) but you have to change the extension from TXT to REG:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

After saving and changing the extension, you have to do is— Run it by double click, like you do with an .exe application, it will automatically make the changes.

From now, you will get the updates for your discontinued version of Windows XP :)

NOTE: One thing more we forgot to tell you above that This hack only works in 32-bit versions of Windows XP.
