According to a bulletin released by the university on Wednesday, it has been hit by a massive security data breach which containing 309,079 members data who are connected to the university.
What Breach includes?
- Campus ID for Maryland’s College Park and Shady Grove campuses since 1998.
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- University ID number.
“With the assistance of experts, we are handling this matter with an abundance of caution and diligence,” University President Wallace Loh said in a statement. “I regret this breach of our computer and data systems. We are doing everything possible to protect any personal information that may be compromised.”
