nsa hacking radio waves

America’s new intelligent hacking has gone up to such a level that the newest hackers do not need an internet connection to hack a system. As reported by The New York Times last week, reported that there is a system that checks about 100,000 other computers around the globe and has been developed by the National Security Agency of USA. This happens with radio waves that are emitted and hence is intercepted by the computer developed at the National Security Agency

The Times also said that the spying is done from secret USB ports that are installed within the computers that are targeted for surveillance. These kinds of signals are received by transceivers and are so strong that they can catch up signals within 10 kilometers of the actual target.

The increasing number of hacking attempts that is done on the US government and security enabled departments is the main reason behind development of such a technology. Such attacks have been traced to have initiated beyond borders, in China and although the government keeps quite about such malicious activities, it is undeniable that there is a huge growth of professional hacking software that pose a threat to the UnitesState’s security.

Earlier, the hacking activities were restricted to emails and other virus filled software. But now the hacking seems to be upgraded to a combination of both hardware and software integration. Hacking a system without any online contact with it needs a transceiver to be externally put into the computer and a USB cable that will connect it to the target without having to connect it to a computer.

The name of this kind of specific targeted cyber operation is known as Quantum, which has been earlier detailed by Edward Snowden, the former NSA contractor, said the Times. This kind of an approach will help the government of United States of America to track its major hackers and information leakers comprising of the Chinese, Mexican, Russian militaries and also the threats coming from the European Trade groups and Mediterranean countries.

The transceiver will be able to intercept and sent out data in the form of secret radio signals that can be interpreted only at the NSA’s field stations. The process is also vice versa as the field can also reverse send the data back to the target computer.

“We are only aiming to eradicate potential attacks of malicious activities that are specifically prepared to target our intelligence and security” said an NSA spokesman when asked about the same by the media. He also said that NSA has formulated this intelligence to prevent the data of United States from being leaked rather than acting as a boost to the competitiveness of the United States’ security base.

The NSA spokeswoman also said that it is absolutely imminent for the United States of America and its allies to consistently develop such intelligence so that they have substantial security from foreign hacks into their security systems. Although the agency is silent about the use of Quantum, The Times sees no proof that the technology has been only used within the borders of USA.

The most important target of USA in this regard will have to be China, according to the newspapers. According to the newspaper, the United States has especially targeted China for surveillance. Snowden has also admitted that USA has its own convert centres in China that insert this intelligent tracking software in computers over there. Nonetheless to believe that this is a two way process as China too has its eye on the USA’s private and government computer systems.

NSA recent development has definitely caused a stir in the president’s advisory panel who take this as an underestimation to the American technology of avoiding potential computer hacks. The Snowden papers in 2013 brought out the truth that NSA has pressurized several private business organizations and inserted intelligence spy tools into their computers so that their emails and other data can be checked for malicious planning. The NSA has merged the basic encryption values so that they have an increased potential to hack any target computer.

The NSA panel clearly pointed out that the U.S government must not do any de- standardization of their encryption, or weaken the security of their vulnerable data and software so as to ensure cyber safety. However, it is on the President now to evaluate the recommendations of the Panel and is expected to speak about the same on Friday.

An anonymous administrative official has allegedly told to The Times that the President will give a green signal to few of the proposals and allow the Congress to decide on the others. Although he wants to downsize the levels of phone call tracking in America, he would not want to stop them. The official also said that he will not be embarking strict laws on national private letters and other important governmental documents.
