39-years old Miami Beach police officer Ericson Harrell was protesting the Affordable Care Act and arrested on November, 22 when he refused to remove the Guy Fawkes mask he was wearing.
By himself Harrell told police he was “protesting Obamacare,” but when he “was asked several times to remove his mask and produce some form of identification or tell us his name,” he refused. Later he appealed that “the mask was used by movement groups around the world for protest,” and that the officers had no legal authority to tell him to take it off.
According to the police report, Ericson Harrell was wearing the mask, a black cape, and holding an inverted United States flag when police confronted him.
Harrell carried American flag and the Guy Fawkes mask as seen in the movie “V for Vendetta”, symbolizing a state of distress of the nation.
The Guy Fawkes mask was popularized by the hacktivist group Anonymous.
After this incident Ericson Harrell became unemployed. His badge and police identification he left at the Plantation Police Department on Sunday.

The article says he was fired. It’s interesting because so many rouge cops get away with literal murder, and yet this one is fired for protesting.
